Worth Reading – Moving sales, service, and finance to the Frontier with Microsoft 365 Copilot

This is an interesting way to admit that sales of the separate Copilot versions weren’t working out well.

Microsoft is announcing the addition of role-based AI solutions to Microsoft 365 Copilot for sales, service, and finance professionals.

Instead of paying an extra fee for the Sales, Service, and Finance Copilots, they will be included as part of the Copilot for the M365 license. For no additional fees.

I want to be charitable and say that this doesn’t reek slightly of desperation, but is instead a strategic decision, possibly to be followed by a price increase next year. Or even that they are trying to lessen the confusion around the different versions of Copilot.

Then I counted the number of “Try Copilot Chat Now!” buttons on that page and immediately realized how desperate they are to get people to use Copilot.

I counted four “Try Copilot Chat” buttons, one “Reinvent Productivity with Copilot button, and two text links to Copilot marketing in the body of the announcement.

As the younger generations like to say, you’re trying too hard.

Either way, will you be trying out the new services when they are available next month?
