Continuing limits on onmicrosoft.com domains and an offer for you!

If you are in the Microsoft Message Center, you have likely seen a mention of email limits being imposed on tenants using the on.microsoft.com domain, as opposed to a custom domain.

Tony has the details covered here – https://office365itpros.com/2025/08/25/moera-domain-limit/

It makes sense. The old Dev accounts that can be created with that domain, or thirty-day trial tenants that almost anyone can create, pose a risk. They’re live. Microsoft has already blocked Teams chat from those domains, and now they’re limiting the amount of email being sent from those domains.

In the newsletter, I have discussed the limitations of what I can test with my free tenant, as well as the cost of owning a tenant, even for just a couple of users. While this change wasn’t the impetus for taking that plunge, it added to several concerns I had about relying on that tenant for all of my testing in the future.

So, I have this new domain. It is also tied to an M365 tenant. After my 30-day trial period ends, I’ll need to decide whether I want to purchase the licensing. I likely will, but those decisions would be a whole lot easier if we could get more paid subscribers. So, here’s the deal. For September, I will offer a 20% discount on new annual subscriptions. If you’ve ever been on the fence about subscribing for the whole year, now is as good a time as any!

Also, if your team would like a subscription, you can get 40% off a group (3 or more) annual subscription.

In the future, with this new domain, I’ll be able to offer special content to my paid subscribers, in addition to the mostly weekly newsletter. I’m excited about the possibilities and the opportunities I can explore here. I hope you’ll come along for the ride and be a part of making this happen!

Even if you don’t take advantage of this offer, I am grateful that you’re here and part of our community. Please continue to share the newsletter and other tidbits with your peers!
